About Sustainable Sophie

Welcome to Sustainable Sophie! I decided to create this blog because I love fashion and care about our planet, and realized that it was hard to find cute, trendy sustainable fashion brands.  I wanted to learn more about these eco-friendly brands and help others discover this new world of fashion.

Ever since I was a little girl I have been inspired by non profit companies like Ivory Ella and Pura Vida that donate part of their proceeds to charity. Pura Vida’s bracelets inspired me to create my own bracelets to sell in my local farmer's market to raise money for organizations I support like charity:water and the World WildLife Fund. This was the perfect opportunity for me to give back and help our world, since I have always been creative and love colorful pretty things.

All of this and taking design classes led to my passion for fashion! Whenever I am out or visiting a new place I always try and seek out the local and unique brands. My favorite thing to do is look through my Vogue magazine and find what is new and popular and hopefully helps our planet to.  My love for clothing has inspired me to design and create my own clothes. This sustainable fashion blog is made up of the two things I am most passionate about; fashion and making the world a better place! I would love to work in the fashion industry when I get older, especially now that more brands are focusing on becoming more sustainable and ethically produced.
